What or Who is StopStu About?
WARNING. There are a lot of words on this page and some are BIGGER than others. HOMEABOUT STOPSTU“Hi, I’m Stu. Let me save you the boredom of too much to read—I’m really not all that interesting.”
Sometimes I write about stuff, but it’s mostly fiction with a splash of truth. For fun, I like surfing through wikipedia, but only when I can’t find a good owner’s manual to read. I drive 5 miles under the speed limit to save gas. I usually drink my dinners. I’m balding from being in the sun too much. I like to eat doughnuts, BBQ, and I love Tillamook Ice Cream—it shows.
I DO aspire to be more interesting, like this guy…wink wink, but I had an intoxicating experience with Dos Equis in my youth—I don’t like to talk about it.
You probably came here expecting more, but I thought it best not to insult pop culture in America with another wanna-be-Instagramming travel blogger. Besides, I don’t care how many likes it might fetch, I really don’t look very good in a bikini.
But I think that’s enough bull. Here’s a little truth.
It’s About Exploring.
I’m passionate about discovering cool places. I’m enthusiastic about new experiences. I’m fascinated about antiquities. And my favorite means to explore the above are via intense physical challenges that yield rewards in both the body and spirit.
Stopstu.com is a living account of those adventures. And you can check out those adventures here.
It’s About Inspiring.
All the stories, photos, and videos on this website are initially for my own benefit. —I know! It’s selfish, but I’m learning to share…wink wink, again.
Looking back through them is a re-inspiration for me, and to continue my own journey to explore, to discover, and to experience more. But as an added bonus, I’ve been enlightened that my adventures have inspired others to pursue their own adventures, too. —I love that!
It’s About Learning.
This world is filled with the extraordinary. And thanks to technological advancements in countless industries and products and the genius collaborations by a number of key companies, we have so many exciting means to experience it, and to share those experiences with others.
It is always astonishing to realize there exists such magnificence in nature’s landscapes, invaluable diversity in its cultures, and potential for maturity in humanity’s history. My appreciation and respect for this world and the people in it, past and present, deepens with each new adventure-experience. The more I learn, I can only express one feeling: gratitude.
It’s About Gratitude.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunities to see beautiful locations and to form new friendships with incredible people.
It’s an understatement to simply state, these adventures and fellowships bring out the best in me—just as anyone can use a little saturation to enhance a photo. These experiences ARE the sparks that bring meaning to life.
I hope the chronicles of my journey encourages the best in those, who follow it, and who in turn, encourage the best in other they encounter along the way.
Happy Adventures!
It’s About Living.
When skimming through my adventures, I hope you enjoy yourself. But that is only the beginning. Perhaps seeing what’s out there will encourage the great potential for discovery, which exists inside each of you.
I hope your visit to this website motivates each of you to go out and have a few adventures of your own.
ANOTHER FACT: life is short.
And by the time we reach the end, it’s the memories of our own unique experiences and the wonderful friendships we’ve made along the way that will bring us the utmost satisfaction and gratitude—that you have lived a good and fulfilling life.
